Among physiotherapists there is high prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders, which disrupt their personal and work life. Substantial part of them reports, first disorders begun when they studied pregradual physiotherapy, which corresponds with modern research among physiotherapy students. The goal of this thesis is to measure prevalence of functional disorders in population of physiotherapy students. In this study were 23 participants with average age of 20, which consisted of 21 women and 2 men. All functional disorders were examined during practical courses in subject "Fyzioterapie I", according to methodology taught on 3. faculty of medicine on Charles University. Examined functional disorders consisted of: side differences of anatomical circumference of limbs, range of motion in joints, trigger points, shortened muscles, hypermobility and examination by sight. Muscle, which were shortened most often, was mm. erectores trunci and hamstring muscles. No significant difference was found in range of motion examination, same as in examination of length and circumference of limbs. Most prevalent pathology found in examination by sight was position of shoulders, pelvic, and examination with plumb line from side. Out of 56 muscles trigger points without motoric response were found in 39 % and trigger...

Author: Veronika Sosnovcová Title: Postural stability measured by the Y-balance test in girls who practice sports aerobics and sports gymnastics. Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out the difference in postural stability in girls from sports aerobics and artistic gymnastics. Compare the athletes from different age categories and see if the postural stability improves with age. The diploma thesis also tries to clarify the effect of hypermobility on postural control. Methods: 79 girls - 42 from sports aerobics and 37 from sports gymnastics - participated in this research. Probands were from 8 years old to adult girls. All the measurements were done in the gyms of the particapating clubs from october 2021 to february 2022. The girls were measured by Y-balance test which test their dynamic postural balance and by Beihgton score which test their hypermobility. Microsoft Excel 365 and stastistic software R (version 4.0.3.) were used for evaluation of results. The results were processed using a linear regression model. As a level of statistical significance was considered α=0,005. Results: This study showed that there are statistical significant differences in postural stability between grils from sports gymnastics and sports aerobics. The significant difference is in evaluation of all...

Title: The Assessment of the Impact of the Sports Aerobics on the Postural Stabilization of the girls aged 8 to 10 years Definition of the problem: This thesis deals with testing of the postural stabilization and also deals with detection of the occurrence of hypermobility in two groups of girls aged 8-10 years. The first group consist of girls that do sports aerobics and second group consist of girls that do not do any sport. Objectives: In the theoretical part I will devote a summary of findings on the development of postural security, with motor development and motor learning and also very briefly the hypermobility. The aim is to verify if the sports aerobics has a formative influence on postural stabilization of girls at a school age. I examine if the high training load at this early age leads to changes in postural motor skills in terms of its positive or negative influence. Furthermore, the research confirms the higher incidence of hypermobility among athletes. Methods: Selection of the research group on a voluntary basis and according to predetermined criteria. Practical testing of children assembled using two test batteries. Statistical data processing (Student's t-test, Spearman's correlation coefficient). Comparing the results between the two groups of girls. Results: Two test sets...
Hypermobility syndrome and its connection with nerve entrapment syndromes, the example of the thoracic outlet syndrome
Jiquelle, Carine ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Véle, František (referee)
 ABSTRACT  Background: Since its first mention by Kirk et al. in 1967 and its recognition as a full- fledged rheumatologic disorder, the hypermobility syndrome (HMS) has been increasingly investigated and reported in the scientific literature. Expeditiously renamed benign joint hypermobility syndrome in the patent absence of life-threatening complications, its relatively innocuous character has been progressively reconsidered. In fact, the HMS tends to date to be considered analogous to the Ehlers-Danlos syndrome-hypermobility type, a heritable disease of connective tissue, and therefore emerges as a chiefly rheumatologic disorder with possible widespread reverberations in practically all organs and systems. The condition thence goes beyond the sole involvement of the musculoskeletal system and is recurrently associated with seemingly-unrelated and more or less severe conditions (cardiovascular, pulmonary, gastro- intestinal…). However, neurologic implications of the hypermobility syndrome remain poorly documented, particularly those regarding the peripheral nervous system. Ranking amongst the afflictions of the latter, nerve entrapment syndromes (NES) comprehend a multitude of categories, notably the thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS). And if their pathological mechanisms are generally apprehended...

Title: Evaluation of the strength of selected muscle groups and the range of motion in sport aerobics athletes Objective: Sport aerobics belongs to group of sport gymnastics, which brings increased demands especially on joint mobility, muscle strength and coordination of movement. Athletes are selected according to these prerequisites the development of which is still supported by training. The thesis follow up the physical measurement of these attributes. The Aim: Evaluation of joint mobility and muscle strength of 12-16 year old sport aerobic athletes and their correlations. Furthermore, the comparison together with the level of the performance group. Method: Measurement of joint mobility using goniometry, hypermobility evaluation using Beighton score, measurement of the muscle strength using HUMAC isokinetic dynamometer. Comparison of measured results with performance group level. Results: During measurement of the joint range using the method goniometry was found, that in flexion of the hip joint had 100 % of the athletes increased joint motion. In hip extension, the joint range wasn't increased at all. Beighton score showed, that 90 % of athletes were constitutionally hypermobile. The relationship between joint range and the values of the muscle strength - peak torque has not been proven. Key...
